She began studying flamenco in Menorca, Spain, in 1992 with Paqui Ferrer before continuing her training in Sydney with Diana Reyes. Driven by a passion for authentic flamenco, Deya returned to Spain to study with renowned artists including La Lupi, El Carrete, Juana Amaya, Milagros Menjíbar, Isabel Bayón, Javier Barón, Manolo Soler, Manuela Carpio, and Mercedes Ruiz.
Over more than three decades, Deya has built an international performance career, appearing throughout Spain, Australia, the Netherlands, and China. She has performed at the Festival de Jerez, danced alongside El Carrete at Málaga’s Soniquetet Tablao, appeared in La Traviata with the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra, and collaborated extensively with acclaimed flamenco guitarist Paco Lara.
As both a performer and teacher, Deya is dedicated to preserving the tradition and artistry of flamenco while sharing its passion with audiences and students alike.
