He was selected as the Poet in Residence at the 56th Poetry International Festival (2026) in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
His poems have been translated into English and Dutch and have appeared in publications including The Los Angeles Review, The Massachusetts Review, Asymptote Journal, West Branch, Words Without Borders, Delos, Social Text Online, the Asian American Writers’ Workshop’s The Margins, Mayday, and Lit Magazine, among others. A full English translation of his debut poetry collection, Stonewall Tak Mampir di Atlantis (There’s No Stonewall in Atlantis), will be published by Circumference Books (USA) in 2027.
He is also known as a researcher in queer studies, sustainability, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). He co-edited Queer Southeast Asia (Routledge, 2022) and published his monograph on queer politics in Indonesia, entitled “Intimate Assemblages: The Politics of Queer Identities and Sexualities in Indonesia” (Palgrave Macmillan, 2020).
