Kelly Lee Hickey

Dr Kelly Lee Hickey is an artist and community philosopher of Irish and German descent.

An Australian Poetry slam champion, she has performed at festivals including Ubud Writers Festival and Makassar International Writers Festival.

Her poetry has been featured in major national anthologies including Solid Air and Line in the Sand. Her transdisciplinary practice centres on collaborative and experimental storytelling across mediums including radio, visual art, food and film.

Her participatory and immersive works have been presented at major festivals including the Sydney Biennale and Woodford Folk Festival, as well as small backyards, train carriages and basements.

Her creative doctorate, Tender Places, developed creative practices for building connection between people and places in the poly-crisis through collaborative workshops and artworks.
