Sarah Temporal lives and works on the lands of the Bundjalung Nation in the Northern Rivers NSW. She started performing poetry in 2003 and has since performed in cities and regions all over Australia. She was shortlisted for the 2020 XYZ Prize for Innovation in Spoken Word, and won the 2018 Nimbin Performance Poetry World Cup. Sarah’s work explores origin stories and radical transformations, with a focus on reclaiming women’s experiences through fairytales and orality. Her poems are published in numerous literary journals, including the Australian Poetry Anthology. Sarah initiated and runs Poets Out Loud, a community arts initiative which empowers people of all ages through the spoken word. Her debut poetry collection is currently in development.
