Explore the connection between the art of noticing and the art of video poetry with award-winning interdisciplinary poet Carielyn Tunion Lam exploring the dynamic interplay between film and poetic expression. Participants will be guided in developing their own poetic content, using their surroundings as creative inspiration and adapting their work for social media platforms and alternative presentation.

In Ethiopia, the poetic practice of ሰምና ወርቅ (Wax and Gold) has been perfected over centuries. It is a form of poetry with double meanings, with the surface ‘wax’ obscuring the deeper ‘gold’. Join Ethiopian poet Yirga Gelaw Woldeyes to learn more about this ancient artform and explore how to craft poetry with multiple meanings ranging from spirituality to politics. Suitable for poets of all levels.
