Beyond mere description, this ekphrastic workshop takes up words in a painterly way. We will use the inherent synaesthesia of poetry to pull your favourite artworks off the canvas and pull them into conversation with relatable experiences. Emily Crocker will guide you with activities and memes to draw out your best ideas. Come with a favourite artwork/image (or two) in mind. Leave with a newly written poem and a bunch of exercises to kick-start future poems. Participants will have the opportunity to display their works in an online gallery on Instagram and Facebook on the festival Sunday.
