Join writer and long-time organiser Sara M Saleh for a transformative writing workshop that delves into the heart of intersectional liberation, inspired by the powerful insights of bell hooks. In this space, we will explore how systems of oppression—racism, sexism, classism, ableism and more—intersect and impact our lives, and how self-expression can be a vehicle for empowerment and emancipation. Through guided writing exercises and reflective discussion, participants will be encouraged to critically examine the complexities of their own identities and experiences. We’ll work to foster a sense of community and solidarity, building bridges between diverse perspectives and struggles. This workshop will not only focus on external systems of domination but also on the internalised beliefs we inherit, those we carry, that must be challenged, as we shape critical consciousness and community in service of true liberation.
Whether you’re a new or seasoned writer, this workshop offers a supportive environment to create, connect, and envision a world where all forms of oppression are dismantled. Come prepared to engage deeply, write boldly, and embrace the radical possibilities of intersectional solidarity.
